Mayes MarCom developed a modern, SEO-friendly website for Sustainable Food Lab, significantly enhancing its online presence. The project included a responsive, user-friendly design, a comprehensive SEO strategy, and a detailed messaging and brand strategy to ensure consistent communication.
The Challenge
Sustainable Food Lab needed a website that communicated its mission effectively and improved its search engine rankings and user experience. Their previous website was outdated, difficult to navigate, and not optimized for search engines. Additionally, a cohesive messaging strategy was needed to unify their communications across various platforms and do so authentically.

- Messaging Strategy: Conducted confidential interviews with several stakeholders to develop a comprehensive messaging approach. Discussed with staff the strategies needed to maintain consistent messaging across all communications.

- SEO Strategy: Conducted extensive keyword research and implemented on-page SEO best practices, including optimized meta tags, headers, and alt texts. We also focused on internal linking and high-quality content creation.

The Results
The revamped website and cohesive messaging strategy transformed Sustainable Food Lab’s online presence, delivering the following outcomes:
- Improved Searchability: Search engines can now find the site more easily, which means the Food Lab’s prospects can, too. We did this by optimizing the site’s metadata, images, header structure, and sitemap. The site is also now ADA-compliant. These changes can increase searchability in the double digits.
- Consistent Messaging: Ensured consistent and effective communication across all platforms, enhancing the organization’s brand identity.
- Positive Feedback: Received excellent feedback from both internal team members and external users regarding the new website’s look and functionality.
